08.10.2007 Summer School 2007 Once again, following last year’s success, the Merthyr Media Project’s Summer School 2007 took place during August. Based on our experiences of making Asboland with Karl Francis during last year Summer School this year’s activity was focused on making a short film based on a script idea from one of last year’s MMP beneficiaries, Jordan Davies. Jordan’s idea was to make a film about bicycle thieves (which OK might have been done before), but with the added twist of looking at it from the point of view of the bicycle. The resulting film Lifecycle is currently in post production, so keep coming back to this web site for news of when and where you can see this year’s production. |

08.10.2007 Treharris Editing Suite Another exciting development during the past few months is that together with Merthyr Tydfil County Borough Council a new state of the art video editing suite and sound recording studio has been developed in Treharris college, down in the southern part of the valley. During the summer MMP have started to use this facility for film editing and sound recording. This development is a wonderful resource for the people of Merthyr and MMP will be working closely in the coming months with the local authority and local communities in developing some exciting ways that this facility can be used. If you’re ever around in the Treharris area why don’t you pop in and see what this wonderful resource has to offer. |
